KARIM RASHID

Visionary and prolific, Karim Rashid is one of the greatest unique voices in Design to date. With over 4000 projects in the pipeline, over 400 awards to his name and active clients in over 40 countries, Karim's ability to transcend genres continues to be his forte among the Designers of his generation. His award-winning creations include democratic themes, such as the ubiquitous Garbo waste receptacle and the Oh! chair for Umbra; as well as the interiors of the Naples University underground station, the Prizeotel, the Temptation Resort and displays for Corian and Pepsi. Karim has collaborated with clients to create democratic designs for Method and Dirt Devil, furniture for Artemide and Magis, brand identities for Citibank and Hugo Boss, high tech products for Paul Mitchell and Samsung; as well as luxury goods for Veuve Clicquot and Swarovski, to name a few. Karim Rashid's works are represented in 20 permanent exhibitions and displayed in galleries around the world. Numerous awards and recognitions attest to Karim Rashid's contribution to the world of design, such as the American Design Award and Lifetime Achievement Award, the Red Dot Award and the Pentaward Award. Karim frequently guest lectures at universities and conferences, disseminating the importance of Design in everyday life in a global way.
